When Pixies guitarist and friend of the mag Joey Santiago came through NYC with the band this past August, the stage was (literally) set for a magical night beneath the stars playing to a crazed crowd on the Rooftop at Pier 17. There was just one problem: Joey had left his Boy Howdy! tee in L.A. After a feverish text exchange, CREEM staffers vamos’d to the venue with a replacement, arriving mere moments before the Pixies took the stage.
