Clothes Make The Men
As master rock & roll illusionists, Kiss have made it a cardinal rule that they will never be photographed in public without their make-up. Once or twice this rule has been broken, but as far as we know only one Scandanavian magazine has ever printed such pictures—and at that it was only Gene in a long overcoat, collar turned up, a fuzzy image walking through the cold winter outside his hotel.

In recent years, Kiss haven’t even allowed themselves to be photographed or make personal appearances outside of the concert arena without their make-up and costumes. Back in 1975 however, the band posed for a series of photos with make-up but wearing suits. Today, these photos take on a surreal quality that proves how effective Kiss are as illusionmakers.
